Terms of Service
1. Acceptance of these terms
By creating a RedString account, you agree to these Terms of Service, our Privacy Policy, and our Community Guidelines. If you do not agree, do not create an account or use the app.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create a RedString account or use the app. By creating an account, you represent that you are 18 or older and that all information you provide is truthful and accurate, including your date of birth.
3. Truthful account and profile information
You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account and profile, and to keep it up to date. You may not impersonate another person, misrepresent your identity or age, or create an account on behalf of someone else without authorization.
4. Account security
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us at support@redstringdating.com if you believe your account has been compromised.
5. Permitted use
RedString is provided for personal, non-commercial use as a dating and relationship-discovery service. You may not use the app for any unlawful purpose, or in a way that could harm, disable, or impair the service or other users' ability to use it.
6. Prohibited conduct
You agree not to use RedString to:
- Harass, bully, stalk, threaten, or intimidate any person
- Post or send content that is unlawful, hateful, discriminatory, or incites violence
- Exploit, sexualize, or endanger a minor in any way, including any content depicting or referencing child sexual abuse or exploitation
- Post or send non-consensual sexual content
- Impersonate another person, brand, or entity
- Solicit money, gifts, or financial information from other users, or otherwise engage in fraud or scams
- Post spam or automate interactions with the service
- Infringe another person's intellectual property, privacy, or other legal rights
- Share another user's private information without their permission
- Circumvent or attempt to circumvent our content moderation, safety, age-gating, or account-restriction systems
7. User-generated content
You are solely responsible for the content you submit to RedString, including your profile information, photos, messages, and date proposals (“User Content”). Profile photos are subject to automated and, where applicable, human content moderation before they are shown to other users. We may reject, remove, or request replacement of any User Content that violates these Terms, our Community Guidelines, or applicable law.
8. Reporting and blocking
RedString provides in-app tools to report a user or specific content, and to block another user. See our Community Guidelines for more detail.
9. Moderation, suspension, and termination
We may review, remove, or restrict access to content or accounts that violate these Terms, our Community Guidelines, or our Child Safety Standards, at our discretion. We may suspend or terminate your account for violations of these Terms, for behavior that endangers other users, or as required by law. You may delete your own account at any time from within the app.
10. Service availability
We aim to keep RedString available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.
11. No paid features (for now)
As of the effective date of this document, RedString does not offer any paid subscription, in-app purchase, or other paid feature.
12. Intellectual property
RedString's name, branding, and app design are the property of REDSTRING DATING LTD or its licensors.
13. Safety and offline meetings
RedString is a platform for meeting new people online; it does not conduct criminal background checks on users and cannot guarantee the identity, intentions, or safety of any user you interact with. If you choose to meet another user in person, you do so at your own risk. We recommend meeting in a public place and telling a friend or family member where you're going.
14. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
England and Wales-specific disclaimer and limitation-of-liability language to be completed with counsel. RedString provides the service “as is” and, to the maximum extent permitted by law, disclaims warranties of any kind.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we will take reasonable steps to notify you and update the effective date and version number above.
